Sunday, August 23 | 10:00 AM–2:00 PM | $125 Create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind mosaic bowl while learning the techniques that turn pieces of glass and tile into functional art. With expert, hands-on instruction, you’ll design and create your own mosaic bowl using the colors, shapes and patterns that speak to you. No experience is necessary, and all materials are provided. And there’s no pressure to finish in one day. Your $125 class fee includes as many studio sessions as you need to complete your bowl. ──────── About the Workshop This is more than a make-it-and-go craft class. You’ll learn the mosaic process while creating a substantial piece you’ll actually want to use and display. Your instructor will guide you through choosing materials, developing your design, cutting and shaping pieces, placement, adhesives, grouting and finishing techniques. The examples shown are inspiration—not patterns you have to copy. Go bold and graphic, soft and subtle, colorful and eclectic, or completely your own direction. Every bowl will be unique. Your $125 Class Fee Includes • Your bowl form • All mosaic materials • Use of professional mosaic tools • Expert, hands-on instruction • Your initial four-hour workshop • Additional studio sessions, at no additional charge, until your project is complete What You’ll Learn You’ll work with the same fundamental techniques mosaic artists use to create finished pieces, including: • Selecting and combining materials • Planning a design for a curved surface • Cutting and shaping mosaic pieces • Creating movement with shape, color and placement • Proper spacing and adhesion • Grouting and finishing your bowl No Experience Necessary Never tried mosaic before? You’re welcome here. We’ll walk you through the process step by step, while giving you plenty of freedom to make the design your own. More experienced mosaic makers can use the workshop to experiment with new patterns, materials and techniques. Take Your Time. Make Something You Love. A beautiful mosaic doesn’t have to be rushed. We’ll begin together on Sunday, August 23 from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM. If your bowl needs more time, simply return for additional studio sessions to keep working—with no additional class fee—until it’s finished.
