Mosaic Coaster Kit
1. Protect your workspace with plastic or paper.
2. Spread a generous layer of glue evenly across the recessed portion of the coaster, making sure to get into the corners. Place your design paper on top of the glue and press it down firmly.
3. Spread another very generous layer of glue on top of the design paper, carefully spreading the glue out to cover the whole area.
4. Begin to add your glass pieces to the area, leaving approximately 1/8” gap between pieces. Work from the center to the edges, ensuring the glass pieces go all the way to the edge of the recessed area. Let dry overnight.
5. Optional: protect the exposed wood portions of your coaster with tape before grouting.
6. Time to grout: Use the glove provided for grouting. Pour ¾ of the grout powder into a small container and mix in water until it reaches the consistency of thick peanut butter. A little water goes a long way! If the grout is too thin, add the remainder of the grout. If it is too thick, add more water.
7. Dump the grout on the glass and start spreading it, working it between the glass pieces using the popsicle stick.
8. After 10 minutes, use a dry paper towel to remove excess grout. Wait another 10 minutes and do a final cleanup using another paper towel.
9. You can finish the edges by removing the tape and painting them to the color of your choice!
Please use caution when handling the glass mosaic pieces, edges can be sharp. We are not responsible for accidents.
